Amedeo Rossetto is born in Murano in 1951 in a big family of glassblowers. His father was a master as regards the pearl creations (murrine) just like his uncles. Amedeo learned many closely-guarded secrets by his relatives. He studies at Carmini Institute of Art in Venice and then starting to work on Murano island. The artistic atmosphere of furnaces makes him customize the acquired technique increasingly up to blend his love in glass works realized by him. In 1964 he had the opportunity to work in Barovier and Toso's furnace. After six years Amedeo moved to Cenedese furnace where he started to learn new techniques by Busato Master. In 1975 after becoming Master, he majored in watermark and in zanfirico processing following the ancient Venetian tradition since 1700. Since 1990 Master Amedeo Rossetto works at Eugenio Ferro & C. 1929 furnace producing artistic works through the particular procedure called "Murrina". To create a special murrina of concentric rings there must be some crucibles with glass in the molten form of different colors. So a laborer takes a small amount of glass at the end of an iron rod from the first crucible and then he covers it with more glass taken from the second crucible. In this way he will be able to overlap several layers of different colors. The whole of these layers of glass will form a cylinder weighing 5 or 6 kg. After making it in a regular manner by rolling above a plate of iron or of bronze(bronzìn), is applied a second iron rod. So everything passes into the hands of other two workers, called "tiracanna", who press the stick until it gets the planned diameter. As a result will be obtained a murrina characterized by drawings of concentric circles. However, if the stick of soft glass will be put with vertical ridges in the shape of flower, star or heart it will achieve a murrina with floral, star or heart design. The chopsticks obtained in this way (or should I say the reeds as they said in Murano) need for producing pearls "mosaic" (or "multi-flower"), plates, bowls and also pendants. To create pearls it should be covered the first layer of melted glass wrapped around a spike of rebar (anima) with a lot of little pieces of these reeds. At the end they will be compressed with simple tools in order to abtain the desired shape. Amedeo Rossetto great talent makes him a great creator of unique artistic and contemporary goods.
